Topic: Cloud Computing: Presented by: Sharan Kalwani

Cloud Computing is no longer an emerging computing paradigm, that was envisioned to change all IT landscape. This talk will focus on exactly what is cloud computing (and what it is not), how many different “behind the scenes” technology has enabled this to come about (Linux plays a big part), touching all facets including technology, business, services and human resources.

Cloud computing is a consumer/delivery model that offers IT capabilities as services, billed based on usage. Many such cloud services are being made available, but the leading ones are IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service), PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service), and SaaS (Software-as-a-Service).
